timmy's poetry - 29. An Elegy in Blue

a lesson in clarity and obedience .. learned

In the mornings i awaken

Safely locked in your warm embrace

Cherished, adored, i knew my place

Our sweet love remained unbroken

The vows of love we took and shared

Have been so strong for all these years

But now my mind is filled with fears

And deep within my soul i’m scared

You said these words, in your anger

That vows are made to be broken

Teaching a lesson—that's certain

Piece by piece i drop my armour

When at last i finally see

Clarity taught by your actions

My open heart now, to yours runs

And home your love then flies to me

And though we have not argued we

Reaffirm us, as lovers ought

Bound again with the Fates' dear knot

With you, i am meant to be

a test, a chance to see clearly what it is i desire

Thank you for reading ...

Perfectly said. Some lessons take a jolt of reality to learn, especially when stubbornness is blocking the way. The important thing is that you ruminated over the wrongs, understood the impact of the discipline, and followed through with making amends.

it was a rough day. made me see how things could be depending on my choices. it also helped me understand the flow of our relationship and to remember the promises i made. As well, it made me see who He is because when i figured it out and told Him, there were no recriminations.

thank you, Sir.. xo

I tried to think of something different to say about this than what i usually say about your poems, but then i decided to not mess with the truth.

This is as always wonderfully written.

The words are powerful and the story they tell is clear. Especially with the happy outcome. A short story in a few powerful, emotional words.

thank you Cazzie xoxo
