Writing, Musing, and Valentine's Day

Alright, no one jinx me, but I've been a bit busy. Yes, my muse found me and has kicked me right in the ass. Last year I could barely get the anthologies out. This year, for whatever reason, I've been finishing one project and jumping right into another.   At the moment Last Christmas is at its mid point. People seem to be reading and enjoying it. Scotland nearer to independence

It seems increasingly likely Scotland will vote for independence in September and become a separate nation state. Most people in England and Wales don't seem too bothered at the moment. Maybe that will change between now and September's ballot. Why I'm Not Patriotic

I'm proud to be Canadian, but I'm currently not proud to be a Canadian, at least not domestically. Why? Well:   Federal Government   1. There's the ongoing Senate scandal. Senators on suspension are having criminal charges placed against them for, effectively, stealing tax payer money. Many things have happened as a result of this:   a. I Felt Guilty For Having A Future Because My Friend Doesn't

A challenge and a half

As many know I love to cook, and I love watching Masterchef.   I enjoy Masterchef Australia, and am looking forward to Masterchef South Africa starting next week.   One thing I've always wanted to do is create one of the amazing desserts seen on Masterchef Australia. Great trip

Got back last night - very tired but also with a ton of great memories.   I didn't bring my nice camera on this trip and looking back, I'm glad. Well, some people on here know I enjoy mail. Not junk mail or bills, God knows everyone gets enough of that stuff, but actual mail. You know cards and postcards. Italian Cream Cake

1 stick Butter ½ cup Crisco 2 cups Sugar 5 Egg Yolks 2 cups Plain Flour 1 tsp Baking Soda 1 cup Buttermilk 1 tsp Vanilla 1 cup Coconut 1 cup chopped Pecans 5 Egg Whites, stiffly beaten   Cream butter and Crisco. Add sugar, beat well. Add egg yolks and beat. Add flour and soda. Alternate with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla. Add coconut & nuts. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites 2 Tablespoons at a time. Pour into greased and floured 9 in cake pans and bake at 350 for 20 – 25 min or unt

A Short Hiatus!
