timmy's poetry - 25. Do It
I grip the mirror and resist shaking it
But I don’t recognize the face there
The body
The refection is handsome, me
But inside there is nothing, zero
Only blackness
I cannot write, cannot be still
My centre is gone and lost
I’m mislaid
Instincts say to scuttle and run
Don’t look into the face of others
I’m blank
Take your happy pills and smile
Ban sensation, don’t feel
Not hurting
No never again, no more
Find your courage, boy
Do it
- 16
