The Great Escape

Decades of Production

How in the world is this possible?  How can I have an idea decades old and I'm still holding on to it?  Is it possible that I struggle with letting someone else write it?  Truth is, I struggle with the reality that this story deserves a better writer, because I want it to be perfect.  Is that why it's taking so long?  Am I building my talent, and trying to get to the point where I"m good enough, or am I hoping that someone will step up and write the DAMN thing?  Lol.  You don't even know how lon

Thoughts from the Faerie Fool

Memories and Lyrics

I'm not really a writer - things pop into my heat now and then and demand to be written down, but not good otherwise; and at the moment there's too many competing emotions to make any coherent statement. So I'm going to do what I've done before, and use a selection of song lyrics to express my feelings on this -- both my birthday, today, and the 1-yr anniversary of the loss of my boy at the end of the week. Kind of traces my emotions from the beginning or our relationship, and the hesitancy he h

November CSR Feature: Those Cerulean Eyes by Arran

Happy November! Just 2 months left until 2019 comes to a close, and I thought I'd feature a story that just came to a close as well, Those Cerulean Eyes by Arran. Long-time member of the site, this is one of a few stories Arran posted this year. Did you read it? If not, here's your chance before the Discussion day at the end of the month! Also, I'm still looking for ideas on how to feature site stories and authors to change up the first/last Monday of the month blog. The CSR format has been goin

Confession

Confession  When i started this journey of discovery i had a lot of help from a lot of Great Sirs. They answered all of my questions and gave me a lot of things to think about. i had a bad experience and learned from it.  I then met my  current boyfriend he has open my eyes to a lot of new experiences. (i have been given permission to share this) we are both older over 65. We have a good time together. Our first meeting was 7 hours just sitting and talking on his deck. We then have bee

The Occasional rantings and ravings of Anita

Finally got back to writing.

So, I've finally made it. I'm back at the point where I manage to write. Over a period of about ten years, I got pulled further and further away from things that gave me inspiration to write. (or do anything creative for that matter) The reasons, may or may not be disclosed at a later time, but the gist of it is  that even if I didn't understand it at the time my life wasn't doing so good anymore. Top that with denial of being trans from way back when I was 10 or 12 years old. I b

Things Don't Always Work Out

Like the title says not all things in life work. It's a shame, but it's true.  My desire for our new boyfriend to become more in our little family didn't come to fruition. He decided it wasn't right for him and moved on. I've talked to him, but we'll leave it here for the moment.  All of this was hard on tim. Especially since he'd grown so close to Jim.  tim is willing to continue on this adventure - he has a big heart and wants to make me happy - but we will see.   I am awar

My Journey Begins

I created the world of Arcadia some time ago when I thought to myself--Hey, it would be great to have a story that makes people just as entertained as Game of Thrones, or Harry Potter or some other big story franchise.  That doesn't mean that I'm that great of a writer, or someone that could even achieve that standing in the writer world.  Believe me, I'm not cocky or arrogant when I say these things - I just say what I wanna say because I believe it. Do you believe in your dream?  I know a

October Classic Excerpt: The Leanai Scath by Andy78

Did you see Monday's blog post featuring this month's Classic Author story and ad? This month's selection is a short story, so I don't want to share too much of it with you because that might spoil too much before you read it. Andy has a real knack with writing one shots that draw you in and make you want to know (and force him to write) more, and The Leanai Scath is no exception.  So much of this story seems like it's just a normal tale, but then there are nuances that let you know that so

October Classic Feature: The Leanai Scath by Andy78

This month we have a one shot story competition, and it's the last full month before your short story is due for the Fall anthology, so I went with a Classic Author One Shot story that features something from beyond the normal... aliens! Or are they? Well... let's see what Andy78 came up with in The Leanai Scath.    The Leanai Scath by Andy78 Length: 1,774 Description: The Leanai Scáth appeared on Earth two centuries ago. They have been herded into colonies on the

Warning: If relationships that include sex with others apart from committed partners offends you then skip this entry. Like so many of us who have a non-hetero identity, I've done a lot of research on sexuality.  I've also researched for stories I write (particularly the one I'm currently posting, Camp Refuge).  One that I discovered while researching was demisexuality.  Here's urban dictionary's definition of it, and it works pretty well.  https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=De
