Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 15 - Sept. 21)

    By wildone

First thing first, I really need anyone who is thinking to enter our yearly Anthology, please see Val's Thursday blog and if you fingers haven't started typing, get them going! As you read this, I am indisposed. Read into that what you want . But I'm up by a lake in the mountains looking at the colours change for fall.  So next week in the northern hemisphere, we flip into fall, autumn, whatever you like to call it. Down under the equator, they are about to hit spring   What is y

I'm Just Fangirling...

Hey everyone!   There is this site, that I used to visit a lot when I was sixteen or seventeen. Well, if Literotica and Nifty had children together, this site would have been the naughty one so, that should give y'all an idea on what the site is like   Many of its stories weren't really that great. Heck, a lot of them were more porn than plot However, like Literotica and Nifty, there were gems here and there.   One of those gems, is the reason for this blog   Back in May 2013, I ca

Chapter 1 And 2 Of Cbdt Are Now Live

https://www.gayauthors.org/story/w-l/0sand1scbdt         To sum everything up into two sentences:   Knowledge is power, not just power in the form of magic or a nuclear weapons, it is the power to bring down individuals and nations through revelations. Whether it is an anti-LGBT group or a LGBT defensive team formed by a group of geniuses, in our modern world of integrated technology, knowledge is a weapon that can kill or protect.

Now, on to the prompts.   Prompt 456 – Creative   Tag – First Line   “How did I forget his birthday again?”   Prompt 457 – Creative   Tag – Spiders   To say you loath spiders would be a gross understatement. Movies That Make You Feel Like A Little Kid

So, my movie theater ran the Back to the Future trilogy last night, in celebration of Back To the Future Day. I wasn't able to see the first two, but I did get to see the third movie...and I gotta tell you, after Doc Brown and his wife Clara fly off in their time travel train with a content Marty McFly and Jennifer Parker, I just felt like a happy little 9-year old kid again. I'd never gotten to see the movies in theater because I was either a baby or a toddler, and there was something just magi

Writing Tip: So You Wanna Be An Author

For a while in the blog, we used to do "Blast from the Past" posts. All of these posts came from the old newsletter. I was struggling to figure out what to post for today, when I thought, why not check out the earlier posts of the revived blog. In looking back, I found the perfect post, and it happens to be the first "Writing Tip" that was posted when Lugh started the blog back up. I hope you find it informative.   If you want to check out the past comments on the original post, you can go c

Something Scary

So like, something curious happened today. Me and my mate, on the school computers, cracking out some media studies work, and I just happen to be on my photo drive staring at this picture I snatched off a digital album posted on the school site of a junior hockey sports game. The photo was of my best crush in the whole wide world even if you combined hot guys like Charlie Puth and Zac Efron together he still would be my pick crush since last year, standing on his lonesome, in the middle of a ho

Billy Newt Tames A Dragon

https://www.gayauthors.org/story/w-l/billynewttamesadragon   Alright, so let me explain a few things:   1. Magic to me can be broken down into Psi ability of Telekinesis, whether it is moving objects, slowing it down, weather control, or teleportation (Physics of quantum entanglement and other stuff).   Warlocks in my universe are endowed with a unique ability to grow and channel their magic within themselves. They don't need conduits like the earth or any pagan deity, like Witches and dem

2014 Followup Entry

Once again, it's been awhile since my last entry.   For this entry, I'm going to concentrate on the walking that I mentioned before. In August of 2014, I bought myself an exercise tracker. I started out with one of the cheaper ones that tracked my daily steps, calories burned, and my sleep at night. I can the information to my computers, phone, and tablet.   When I started having problems with the tracker almost a year later, I upgraded to one of the trackers which has clock built in. It als

Weekly Wrap Up!

I hope everyone had a great week! I think today I'm going to get right into the Wrap Up for the week.   Monday and Wednesday were all about K.C. and his story "A Grim Fairytale", which just so happens to be this month's Signature Author Background. On Monday, Cia wrote a review for the story and then on Wednesday she interviewed KC. If you haven't already checked them out, they're sitting there waiting.   Friday brought us a couple of new prompts from the prompt guru Comicfan. This week he g

Lgbt Story Review: "jason" By Pyro

Story: Jason   Why do I like this kind of story?   In terms of writing, it is grammatically bad, which in the modern world of Gay stories is a death knell for readers (I understand what you must think, if a writer cannot edit, they should not be writing and posting), but in terms of content, it holds a good message with extremely poignant characters that we can all desire to live up to or desire to be. It has weaknesses and hokey plot elements, plus the usual Dickensian problems of the early

What's Up Next...

Just thought I'd drop a note now that Lie of the Serpent is done to let anyone who was curious know what I have going on in my head now.   Well, apparently, I've deviated from my original plan. I have a couple ideas floating in my head, one of which was the gymnast one I mentioned in one of my poems and in a previous blog. And I actually started it--one chapter, sort of.   But then another idea hit me--okay, pounded me over the head--because I started it as well. I think I'm more inve

One More Short Story In Billy Newt's Universe, Then Cbdt

Well, I don't want to let my readers down; even if the appeal was small and marginal, I will give them one more short story in that universe at the very least. I am not going to commit to a long term unless you guys want me to, since I do have a primary story being launched.   For the upcoming launch of Cyber Bullying Defense Team, 8 chapters have finished editing with a Halloween special Kitt is working on the tail portion right now, but that part will not be released until December/January.

The Next Projects...

So after a pretty disastrous September, October has started out really well!   Launched our own company, with which we have three projects under our radar which I thought i'd blog about   PROJECT ONE: The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo, July 2016.   I'm casting for a new 50 minute version of the above novel with a multiroling cast. It's going to be great fun and a wonderful production. I'm in the directors chair for this one and it's partially devised, so it will be nice getting b

Writing Prompts #454 & #455

Welcome back to another Friday Prompt Me! Yes, amazing how quickly the week seems to pass. Already those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are seeing the cooler temperatures moving in, the leaves changing colors, and announcement of snow. Seems that autumn is flying by. As it does hopefully people are taking time to enjoy things and perhaps even taking a bit of time to write again. Just the weekly reminder - Prompt responses under 1,000 words must be posted as part of a collection.   Considerin

Pre-Info Of Chapter 3

Hey Guys... I am back with some information relating to the Next Chapter of the Story. Until now we have seen Davy's misery and an investigation about Davy's disappearance. One was a sad thing and another one is an action thing...   The next chapter is going to involve fully about a guy named Francis and something he has been holding for his entire life. I think you will guess what it is, but You have wait to know everything...   And in this chapter some of the characters are going to introd

Favorite Songs

I’ve been thinking of writing a blog entry on a few of the songs I find interesting, so I think it’s time (now that I’m feeling somewhat manic/mostly depressed) to discuss these songs. (Research from Wikipedia)   Let’s do them alphabetical (by artist) just to make it easy.   First off is Alanis Morissette’s, “You Oughta Know.” It’s a rather troubling song about a failed relationship that seemingly went terribly wrong. Now, the jilted girl is asking her former lover if his new love will measu

Nostalgia And The Best Of Wishes

So, this is a song that makes my heart ache in that way that makes you nostalgic, and happy too. My happy blog post after my birthday. This year, there was no large celebration, but a gentle day with friends and family. Smiles, encouragement, and even wishes of love and happy birthday from friends and family I hadn’t talked to in so long. It was a nostalgic kind of birthday. So, I dedicate this song to all of them, for making me love them all the more, even when they’re far from me. (Some lyrics

Some Fun Facts About Billy Newt's 13Th Birthday

Well, looks like at least 190 views at the story so far with 4 responses. It's not a big reaction, but it's not a bad one either for a non-genre writer like me. Unless, you guys are dying for another fantasy story, I think this might just be a one time thing.   I wanted to at least share some things about the story at least for fun facts:   1. I have read way too many stories about witches, (used to love Charmed too), I feel like there's really no difference in story elements of fantasy. I w
