Here Kitty, Kitty - 26. Chapter 11.1
Carl watched as Simon slumped when he finished his story. Kitryn was there to catch him and kept an arm around his shoulders in support. Elder Patrick made a silent exit to give the rest of them some privacy.
Carl drew in a deep breath before he spoke. What this vampling had been through defied belief, and to still be such a good and caring being? That was nothing short of miraculous. Most people would have become resentful of life and when they were then turned into a vamp they would have used their new abilities for their own profit.
“Simon, I am in awe of you and what you’ve been through. My offer still stands. I will train you and teach you everything you need to know about how to be a good vampire.”
Simon turned a brilliant smile on him and Carl had to blink, Simon was a striking male, but when his smile reached his eyes making them sparkle, he was gorgeous.
It took a moment for him to realize someone was talking. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts he focused on Kitryn who was glaring daggers at him. “Sorry, I drifted off for a bit there.”
Kitryn rolled his eyes and Simon just looked between the two of them in apparent confusion. Carl just smiled at them both. “What did I miss?”
“I asked when my training will start? We also have to find out more about what’s happening with the seers.” Simon answered.
Carl frowned thoughtfully. “Give me a couple of days to settle in and get updated about the current problems. Then we’ll work out a schedule around any current responsibilities we both have.”
“That sounds good. I think we’d better go check on the kits, unless you need us for anything else?”
“No, you go. I’ll look forward to meeting your kits soon.”
Carl heard Kitryn mutter something about ‘over dead bodies’ as the pair exited the room.
Carl shook his head, he wondered if Kitryn even realized he was acting so possessive. It was going to be such fun to tease the kitty cat.

Fran was laid out on her front on her bed absorbed in a book one of the bears had loaned her. She giggled at the antics of the characters and the colorful pictures. She could hear the boys yelling at each other in the next room and the poor grown-up who was watching them could be heard trying to calm them down. Fran snorted good luck with that.
Movement at the edge of her vision drew her attention. A glow was coming from the corner of the ceiling. Slowly the glow grew brighter and seemed to lower until it stopped at the side of her bed.
“Who are you?” Fran asked, her tone unafraid.
The glow dimmed until a familiar form emerged and sat on the bed beside Fran.
“I’ve been sent to tell you about your powers and to let you know what will be expected of you soon. Meg and Kitryn will mean well but they will want to protect you and so may not want to tell you everything you need to know.”
Fran sat up and crossed her legs at the ankle. She got comfortable and turned to her visitor with a smile. “I’m ready, Mom.”
And as always thank you to Tim for all his corrections.
