Buy One, Get Two and Three... - 67. Chapter 67

Carlos

Carlos sat on his bed and dropped his head to his hands. This was not how he’d hoped to finish the evening. He’d planned on allowing Toby to cheer Daniel up and then after they were alone again he’d planned to try and seduce his boy. Nowhere in his plans did he allow for Daniel wanting his brother to stay. Idiot, of course Daniel would want his brother to stay close. Silas was out of reach, he’d want his only remaining family close. Why couldn’t Daniel want him close instead? The boy had been pulling more and more into himself since Silas left for his honeymoon.

Ugh, Carlos groaned. Where was his usual confidence? He never had any problems getting boys to do as he wanted. Why was Daniel different? Because you love him. You don’t want to do anything that may drive him away. You want him to come to you. That voice in his head could be an almighty pain in the ass, especially when it was right. But, he’s a submissive. If you don’t do something soon he’ll be snapped up by some other Master looking for an obedient boy. You’re making a mistake waiting. Okay, that voice could get truly obnoxious too.

Carlos sighed, he really wanted a glass of whiskey, the constant arguing with himself was giving him a headache.

Moving silently, he headed down the hallway toward the stairs. As he passed Daniel's door he heard the brothers talking. He didn’t want to intrude and was about to move on when he heard his name.

“Carlos started being weird. Oh, he still touched me, kissed me, and gave me compliments, but they seemed…I don’t know, empty I suppose. Like he was saying them because he was expected to…”

Daniel continued talking but Carlos’ mind was spinning. His touch, kisses, and compliments seemed empty? Why would Daniel think that? Because you’ve been pulling away from him? The unhelpful voice in his head chimed in.

More words filtered through the gap under the bedroom door.

“The longer it went on the more he pulled away. Tonight, before you arrived, was the first time in what feels like forever that he’d even flirted with me. So, you see, Bro, he must have got what he wanted. Now, he just doesn’t know how to ask me to leave nicely.”

Leave? No fucking way. His boy wasn’t going anywhere.

He barged in the door as he heard Toby telling Daniel he didn’t think Carlos wanted him to leave. Carlos yelled his agreement as he entered, “No, he fucking doesn’t.”

Carlos took in the scene of Daniel curled up with Toby, tears on his cheeks. The desire to make sure he kept his boy surged as he pulled Daniel out of the bed and threw him over his shoulder.

“We’ll see you in the morning,” he called to Toby as he stormed out and headed back to his bedroom. He heard Toby's laughter floating out the room as he left.

In his room, he dropped a stunned Daniel on his bed and pinned him there with a glare.

“Do. Not. Move,” he growled as he turned to shut and lock the door.

He returned to sit against the headboard and pulled Daniel into his arms. He relaxed slightly when Daniel didn’t protest the embrace, in fact, he snuggled closer.

“Talk,” he demanded.

“What do you want me to talk about, Sir?”

Carlos growled. “You know very well what I want you to talk about. What’s this nonsense about me wanting you to leave? About me not wanting you?”

Daniel lifted his head from Carlos’ shoulder and frowned. “But, Sir, you have hardly tried anything since we, well, you know.”

Carlos grinned at the blush that covered Daniel's cheeks and neck. “Yes, I know. I remember very well the feeling of having you writhe beneath me. I know you were begging for my touch and my cock.” He allowed himself another grin at the spreading blush before he became serious. “I also know I woke up alone. I found you making dinner and you didn’t mention anything about what we’d done. After that day you seemed to withdraw and so I waited for you to come to me with what was bothering you. Are you ready to tell me now?”

“Why would I come to you? You’re my master, I was waiting for you to come to me. I was waiting for you to tell me to move my stuff into your room. I was waiting for you to order me into your bed at night instead of sending me to mine alone after Silas was gone.

“If you wanted me I’d already given you permission to take me. If I didn’t want it I would tell you, or safeword and then explain. Since you didn’t order me, ask me, or even hint at wanting me, what was I supposed to think?”

Carlos sat in shocked silence. How could he have misread the situation so badly? Thinking quickly he knew he had to do something to rectify the mess they found themselves in.

“I think it’s time we reevaluated our contract,” he said slowly. “I think it's time to add a few new rules and to reassess your limits. The first new rule will be about communication, in relation to both of us. I will admit I should have asked you what was going on sooner than this, but on the other hand, you should have come to me if you were unsure about anything. As for the next rule, you are expected to be in my bed every night from here on out. The rest we’ll work out in the morning, right now we need to sleep.”

Daniel was staring at him in apparent shock, but he nodded and cuddle deeper into Carlos’ arms. Flipping the bedside light off Carlos pulled him closer and breathed a silent sigh of relief. He’d nearly lost the best thing to ever happen to him. He swore he’d do better and make sure the contract they drew up was iron clad and very, very, permanent.

Poor Daniel, he thought maybe he'd done something wrong when he and Carlos did their thing, afterwards it seemed like Carlos had gotten what he wanted and that was that. Neither Daniel or Carlos thought to talk to the other to see where they stood. I hope that with the new rules about communication and the sleeping arrangements maybe they can move forward with their relationship like Silas and Oscar did by getting married. If Daniel and Carlos get married, maybe they can make it a double ceremony with Toby and Tara getting married right along side of them. I think it would be great for them to have the double ceremony because then all three of the brothers would be married then. I also think that it might help bring them closer to each other rather than it continue the way it's been for a long time before Toby rescued them. Great story so far, I'm really enjoying it, I think it can only get better.

Love this story and its characters. Daniel and Carlos are as bad as each other in not communicating. Carlos should have known better as his Master, that Daniel is used to being told what to do. It's new for both of them love and relationship. Maybe with new rules and by communication they can move forward as a couple.

Carlos was scared that Daniel would think of him being like the last man who called himself Daniel's Master. Now everything is out in the open they can start to build a new connection. :)

I like how the story underlines that Dominant, Submissive or anything else, we all have to step up and take responsibility. you can't abrogate your voice.

Everyone is always responsible for their own actions. Whatever their role in life, a relationship, or any other situation.  My parents taught me that from a young age and its a philosophy i have lived by. :)

Now, boys, that wasn't so hard? A little conversation goes a long way. Funny how they both backed off. Not a good way to get things moving in the right direction.

They were both understandably afraid, but they then let that fear cloud their common sense. Now, they just need to remember the lesson they've learned.  :)

That pesky communication problem.

It can be a problem between a lot of people. I do think if people talked more and asked for clarification on things, instead of assuming,  there'd be less arguments and less misunderstandings. :)

Thank you everyone for your comments, they mean a lot to me

 for all.
