tim's Bits and Pieces - 93. Chapter 93 Motorcycles in the Rain

i wondered about saying something about this one... maybe best not to. Until i post them poems are mine, once posted they belong to the reader to make of them what they will.

<>><<>

Is there truth amid the pain
like motorcycles in the rain
wet through to our skin
again and again, we seek to win

What is truth, and what is life
we cannot outrun the strife
tears fall from heartbroken eyes
we tell and tell and tell the lies

There is nowhere we can run
we live and die by the gun
our tattooed skin we can’t shed
where are the drugs to stop the spread

Words are the only sword I own
and I don’t stand here alone
blood flows from the wounded hand
too late to save our burning land

I’m drawn to this poem. It makes me feel both desperation and determination. The line: Words are the only sword I own and I don’t stand here alone  echoes in my brain especially. Thank you for posting this.

Interesting. I can understand why you chose not to add anything about this piece.   I'm not sure I'd call it a beacon, but it's brave and the pictures it brings to mind are of strength, loss and power.  I'm sure I'll read this several times.

This was powerful.

I like your figurative “flex”, tim.

”Words are the only sword I own”….

The pen is mightier than the sword, even in times of strife, (maybe especially) you wield it well.

Motorcycles in the rain. I see the struggle, the defiance, the indomitable spirit.

Your poem is a beacon for those navigating their own storms, a reminder that while we may be marked by our battles, we are also defined by our resilience.

In the realm of silence, our words ignite,
A beacon in the shadow, a flame in the night.
With every stroke, every letter we write,
We wield our swords in the absence of light.

Thank you, tim.

thank you, drown.  Thank you for sharing what you see and the poetry also.

Thank you, Parker.  Those lines are rather defiant. Sometimes words are all we have. Thank you for reading this and for your comments.

:) Thank you so much.  These days we need strong words, though i'm not sure i'm the one to do it.  Thanks again and it's lovely to see you xo
