tim's Bits and Pieces - 83. Stones and Blood

Your poems speak to me and make me hear your voice telling me about the  quiet, and that solid, reassuring peace - and about how focusing on perceived flaws can shatter that peace into shards. These lines are spare and beautiful. 

I'm glad you posted these.

I like the first one, but the second ... it makes me think. That second stanza in particular sticks in my mind.

The second poem is a bit dark, but no less true. I'll repeat what others have commented. It makes me think. Number one is almost a shout for joy! If it's possible to shout quietly. I know the peace in silence, and your poem beautifully captures that feeling. Thanks for sharing, Tim. 🧡

There is peace in the quiet. Introspection is fine as long as you remember we are all imperfect and will remain so, better to embrace those old scars than to pick them open afresh. Namasté little brother. 

The first piece brings me peace & joy.

The second one, like everyone else, gives things to think about. Too much time spent inside your own head can be rough.

I just had five days of almost complete silence in my house. Husband and son were both away. It was so cathartic. A balm to my soul that was desperately needed. Sometimes silence is the best sound there is. 

I try not to look inside myself too much. Most days are okay, but self doubt always threatens to snuff out the light I let in.

Thanks for your encouragement.  Watch out thinking about the 2nd... you know where my mind has been .. not a good place to visit.

Thanks dugh. i keep making new cuts ... been struggling lately... however, on new meds again.. and following the doc's advice about exercise and things.

I like when I can find that silent place in my mind and rest for a while. It's usually chaos and background noise that keeps me from focusing. The second is all too true as well. Sometimes trying to find the silence I stumble into the darkness. Hugz to you
