tim's Bits and Pieces - 1. The Pick-Up
I first saw him in the doorway; a very handsome man
He turned to laugh with friends. To meet him I'd need a plan
That Steven Tyler mouth, I simply had to kiss
His lips would be on mine tonight
I'd make that man mine tonight
We'd make love later tonight, together on my divan.
Bravely I approached him and offered him a drink
He looked me up and down. Gave me a dirty wink
My eyes never strayed from the sexy mouth
I knew I'd kiss him later
More than kiss him later
I'd lay in his arms later, our lips completely in sync.
He walked me to the dance floor; pulled me closer then
Around the room he led me, through a sea of men
His redolence was compelling
And I knew that I could drown
In his essence I would drown
I wanted to drown, over and over again
He dragged me into a corner. Held me close and tight
Then he lips were on mine; his were a delight
He said, "D'ya mind that I am married?"
No, just want to be your lover
Please take me as your lover
Let's go somewhere my lover and make love through the night
We went to his hotel. He closed the door and smiled
I couldn't get enough of him; I was beguiled
He helped me out of my t-shirt
I unbuckled his belt then
Pulled off his belt then
I unzipped his jeans then and went a little wild
Later in his arms, he kissed me soft and tender
He was just so handsome, I wanted to surrender
We had a little talk though
He said he'd like to see me
Continue to see me
He needed to see me, his little pretender
I asked him what that was, since he's the married man
He told me he loved me, he said it quite deadpan
Does he really think I'll believe that?
Does he think that I'm stupid?
Could I let myself be stupid?
For him I would be stupid; if he was my lover-man
My phone number he recorded; promising to call
I waited for his message from my room down the hall
Days of silence told me I had been a fool
I had just been a pick-up
I knew I was just a pick-up
Just a foolish pick-up, I'd been duped after all
My life went on as always. I was still all alone
Back in the bar one night – it had to be his clone!
Smiling, he walked toward me
He bent to kiss my cheek
Seriously kissed my cheek!
He whispered against my cheek. "I'm gonna make you my own."
This happened ten years ago. We still make out on the divan
Life with him is wonderful; there hasn't been a plan
His sexy mouth is a little older
But those lips are still the same
Delightful kisses just the same
Sweet kisses the same in the doorway, from my handsome man.
