tim's Bits and Pieces - 20. Remembrance Day, November 11, 2018

For all who have fallen and served, in our name. Canada remembers the 100th anniversary of Armistice 1918 - 2018 and Canada's Hundred Days, August 8 to November 11, 1918.

You fought,

Young men with lives

to live.

You fought,

In horrors we imagine

only.

You fought,

Bravely, over the top

to die.

You fought,

For our freedom,

at the cost of your own.

When the larks fly; and

as the poppies grow;

We remember you.

lest we forget

Thanks to AC Benus, my editor and friend. To all of you who remember service men and women everywhere ... thank you.

And thank you to Maj. John M. McRae, who wrote In Flanders Fields and from where I borrow images of the larks and poppies.
