tim's Bits and Pieces - 65. Teachings

                  _-_

I know life is a great teacher

Though sometimes the lessons feel hard

We can leave gardens untended -

they grow wild then, but to stay strong,

the irises need dividing

I grow weary of the struggle

my soul is bound, weak and tired

mired in thick, sucking mud

Each breath takes all my might

I want to close my aching eyes

Let this quicksand around me dry

It holds me fast, relentlessly

Quiet now, in the sands of time

In dreams, you suddenly appear

An oasis of air and life

From this prison you set me free

— to future and possibility

thanks, Reader.  i have been struggling lately and we don't know why ... meds, maybe, not sleeping, defo.  i got up and wrote a little today. i can feel words building up inside of me.. but they are a whirlpool... a vortex where they appear on the surface but are sucked to the bottom for unknown periods of time.  Like the whirlpool at Niagara.  that place both frightens and fascinates me.

i'm glad you ended up smiling ...

The words will come out when they’re ready as they did today. They wanted to be just right, I think.

For you, molly.... you 'do' just by being....

Sonnet 19: When I consider how my light is spent

When I consider how my light is spent,
Ere half my days, in this dark world and wide,
And that one Talent which is death to hide
Lodged with me useless, though my Soul more bent
To serve therewith my Maker, and present
   My true account, lest he returning chide;
“Doth God exact day-labour, light denied?”
I fondly ask. But patience, to prevent
That murmur, soon replies, “God doth not need
Either man’s work or his own gifts; who best
Bear his mild yoke, they serve him best. His state
Is Kingly. Thousands at his bidding speed
And post o’er Land and Ocean without rest:
They also serve who only stand and wait.”
