tim's Bits and Pieces - 3. Five for Friday

i was told to write something brilliant ... hehe, well i wrote something anyway...

1.

What does a poet do?
He takes words and bends them
Rearranges and mends them
Turns them on their sides
Pushes and prods them
Until they are perfect meter,
And feet

2.

Write something brilliant you said
such simple words
but it is simply the brilliance

I'm missing

3.

Life is a collection of days
we fit together later
in a collage of
memory

4.

You write sentences
glue them together
missing the point
totally.

Regretless

So much we do, does not matter
the sands of time are not our friends
live and laugh, and love completely
don't leave things until tomorrow
do not leave them until the end

We live our lives as if we have forever
as the past gets longer, my vision clears
one day our time here will be over
make plans; follow through
then leave this life with no regrets

                     _____

Happy Friday. Have a wonderful weekend!  :) And thanks for reading!

It’s happy , very early Saturday for me , and these just made it better. Loved No. 1 , creates an image of poetry like word Bonsai , needing vision ,  patience and skill  , then it just is perfect and complete .

thanks for reading and for your comments.  really sometimes if you're very lucky you wake up and a poem is sitting there written ... or you get an idea and it's there ... but often, more often than not, you write it ... leave it, prune it ... leave it.. rearrange it ... prune it again .. and then it's ready.  Thanks again for your support xoxo

Holy wow. No. 3 is brilliant. One of the best poems I have read.

4 and "Regretless" are also super strong. Reading these makes me think how each day we fail to focus on bring something artistic into the world will be a day forgotten. You have not lost any days with these poems!

i came back to this because i missed something. It was this:  "Each day we fail to focus on bringing something artistic into the world will be a day forgotten." -AC Benus, this is a wonderful thing, and right to my thinking too.

They are all magnificent but number 1 is a bit different. You view yourself from the outside here, and not only yourself - it's written from a more general perspective. Those alliterations, the rhythm (and changes in the rhythm) - wow! This is such a classic! A melody celebrating the wordsmith  :worship:
