tim's Bits and Pieces - 43. In the Chill of an Early Morning

In the damp chill of the early morning
contemplating life, pining for our youth
will falling to our knees and repenting
make up for all the dark sins of the past?
For there are dreams of evil which haunt us
painful pricks by a life best forgotten
and screaming souls beg for absent mercy
crying; why have thou forsaken us, Lord?
in the damp chill of an early morning
it is possible to see with fresh eyes
but often it is not a wished-for view
and i tire of this bleak and deary world
where people mean little and life is cheap
a place where money is the one true god
and human life has such little value
is it sad that I long for it to end?

Writing is a good way to get your feelings out. To me this poem is sad. I hope writing this helps put you on an even keel. Thanks for sharing.

I really feel this. Especially the last few lines. It's a sad world where money matters more than people's lives. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Thorn  i appreciate it.

The heart is because I felt your poem is well written, and invoked a strong emotion in me. So it's showing how I feel about the poem itself. As for content, I would be a tear drop like the others, because it is sad. Getting ones emotions out is a good thing. You're right that lately there has been a lot of sadness and heartache. Hugs my brother.

Thanks very much,  A.

Your poetry often resonates with me, and this one did so especially. You give voice to the vexation and discontent I feel at so much I see and hear. Yet I know you are loved beyond price by many who read your poems, including me.

Thank you, Parker xo

I often wish I could make you happy.  I know sometimes you are. But then your poet's voice, vision, whatever it is pulls the truth from your gut, and you spill it out. And I know in that moment you never truly will be.

Mostly i am xoxo

Sometimes I think you are reading my mind, but maybe you are reading the collective mind.  You are wise beyond your years.  Thank you for putting into words what many feel but cannot express.
