tim's Bits and Pieces - 25. Watching P's and Q's

Just a poem about me and my need/desire to make everything in my world line up. Kinda twisted, but there we are. I'm fine, we are fine, but i am a bit of fanatic about lining everything up and fixing everyone.

I am not good at letting things be

P’s and q’s need watching close

And so many T’s need crossing

Hearts can be broken in many ways

And it is so hard to keep them mended

I feel your pain and consternation

And all I can do is say “I love you”

Knowing all the while it is never enough

I curl up inside and cry my sadness away

wishing I could just hold you

The problem is me and how I look at things

I’ve finally come to see that

But letting things be is so very difficult

I’m fanatical in my need; I pick up stray dots

Then carry them, while looking for lost eyes

Thanks for reading! Go and hug someone today.. tell 'em you love them.

Such is the life of an empath.  You best be prepared if we ever meet in person. You and Mike will both get the stuffing hugged out of you!

thank you Kitt xoxo

Excellent poem, my Brother. I feel that you summed up how a lot of us feel when we over analyze and try to control what we can't control. Love and Hugs always.

thanks A ... somethings cannot be controlled...

This is wonderful in several ways. I love the theme of spelling and writing, and enjoyed how you folded that image and idiom into the way you think and feel and live.

thanks very much, Parker xoxo

I'm a fanatic about fixing things, too. Doesn't always work, and yet I can't stop trying to find homes for those stray dots. you illustrate it well with your words.

no Sir...doesn't always work ... and that hurts.  i appreciate You reading Sir, thank You.

Those bits and bobs, stray dots and "T's" can be annoying little buggers sometimes.  Every time I read something of yours, it fixes something for me and brings a little order to a chaotic world.  A big virtual hug goes to you, and I've given several to others in person.  :)

i appreciate You reading Wolfie. hugs back to You and i'm happier than i can say .. that You're happy.

I love the description "I pick up stray dots..." I often feel the same way. Wanting or needing extra order in life that is not really necessary. Thanks for sharing this. It struck a chord with me.

Indeed this shows your empathy but it is also so well-ordered.

I'm not sure why you write "The problem is me and how I look at things" - everyone has their unique perspective, and it should be valued (if it's not healthy, one should try to change something, of course, and even when I write "but often it is just different", this seems like too much because in a way, we are all less different when we think).

My need to have people happy. If they are close to me, if they are unhappy i feel the need to get them back to a happy place ... i think that is a problem because the person may not want what i do ... and people are capable of fixing their lives without my input .. so it can be a problem.

Thanks for reading.. lovely to see you :)   i appreciate your insightful comments xo

Finally catching up on these. This one hit close to home. The need to help and fix people in particular. I can't say no when someone else is in pain, and feeling their emotions exhausts me, but I do it anyway.
