tim's Bits and Pieces - 39. Death's Door
We, each of us, forget how finite life is
Nature does not nurture,
Does not ask us how we feel
Sending her minion, Death, with no warning
And in the night, families call and keen
Radio waves carry the sound of our tears
Even in our pain, some things will not be forgot;
Who you love, still makes you a pariah
Each lost soul we keep close in our hearts
Mother gives us Time, to help us heal
One by one, we lose those we love
Until it’s us, standing at Death’s door.
But while we wait for our final day
Reach out and tell those who you adore
What they mean and how you truly feel
For that is when we know, life and love, is real.
