tim's Bits and Pieces - 79. Sunday Poems

1.

and then it's done - the day

the tide's washed proof of us away

sand weed was witness to love

our secrets bound in its silence

2.

you there, why do you slump?

hands between your knees

when you raise your head, i see

your eyes filled with melancholy,

an eternity of pain

I don’t know you, but I know

the hurt and anguish you carry

I long to touch you

Pain shared makes us stronger

3.

I see myself hiking the dusty path

As the road rises away,

I stop and turn, to see you at the trailhead

Watching me — but not yet ready

to walk with me

And it breaks my heart to leave you

For I love you so, my dear friend

Nothing lasts; not friendship or love

and it’s time to say goodbye.

There is anguish, longing and love here. That I feel. What drove you to write these, I don't know, but that doesn't matter. You painted the picture, and now it's mine to see.

Thank you for sharing them. xo

I find myself with the need to read these again and again some more to really feel what they’re telling me.

I will leave you with this:

How you manage to put thoughts into words like this is a marvel to me. I am in awe.

As always, tim, nicely done.

Edit: Take care, tim. xoxo

Thank you, Reader. You take care too xoxo

You know how to strike a chord with every poem.

You write the truth as you see it and it is a beautiful expression of emotion.

Thanks tim.

In number 1, I hear the sea, scent the tide and sense the passage of time. I liked how you appealed to my senses so easily. In number 2, I felt the touch of your hand; my heart eased. In number 3, I remain joined in spirit with you even across a wide distance. You write with such grace as I can only envy.

Thank you, Parker. There's is no need to envy me, but thanks. xo

I'm working backwards through your poetry, but I think I'll stop with these today and read them again several times.  Some poems I understand - some I don't - and some poets I don't understand at all.  But I understand more each time I read these three.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts this way. :)

lots of poets i don't understand either ... i don't usually try to figure what they are meaning but more what i feel and understand for myself.  If that helps at all. Thanks for reading and your comments.
