tim's Bits and Pieces - 17. Bird Styles and Morning

i haven't written much poetry lately. My mind has been very quiet, which is both good and bad. But after speaking to @MacGreg Sir, and @MichaelS36 He said i should write about the birds that visit our feeder.

The last poem was from this morning as i looked out my window.

Nuthatch

You’re tiny, small and very quick

I wonder what you think,

As around me, you flit

And cling tightly to the brick?

You bravely come to feed, and stay

No matter if I venture out

Offering forth your favourite seed

I hope from my hand—one day.

Sparrow

Loud and brash, they gather in gangs

Pushing and shoving like brutes

Relentlessly chirping their displeasure

They fight each other for space at the trough

Woodpecker

The sparrows scatter when he arrives

The braver ones bluster and squawk

They quickly learn it’s wasted effort

Dressed in black and white, with a cap of red

He takes his time sampling the choicest seed

In the early morning

When there is silence

Peace

The sky is gray with clouds

My heart wanders to love

And who

It’s a feeling greater than

Words

Expression

But somehow you know

                 ***

Thanks to AC for reviewing these for me. And to all my friends who read them ... thank you.

we've often talked of the birds  that visit your balcony

this set of poems sums up just about every one of those conversations!

i can see the woodpecker bullying his way to the food in my mind

morning is such a sacred time, for so many reasons

everything is new again, reborn

i too treasure the peace of the quiet before the chaos of living

thank you for sharing these, i know it's not always easy and i'm glad you do this

for us, and for you
