Looking inward these days … not liking what i see
The wind is full of secrets I keep
Of roads I missed, of tears I weep
And silence follows like that black hound
Each step it takes with nary a sound.
The path is full of shadows dark
and mocking voices of which I hark
The only soldier in this war,
no friends have I on this distant shore.
My footsteps echo on the cold dark stone
I have never felt so all alone
Companions have fled to safer lands
Far from my evil hands
I crawl upon the barren waste
not belonging here, I am displaced
All hope of acceptance within me dies
Those who dare, see with pitying eyes.
