Into the fields of Summer - 11. Days in the Sun 4
I woke up to a beautiful crisp Sunday morning just a few minutes before 7. I groggily walked to my shower and had my morning piss and a quick shower as well. I dressed in light a yellow shirt with white shorts and boat shoes. The weather was already starting to get chilly but I thought I could still get away with this outfit for the day. I walked downstairs and prepared coffee for dad and cooked us some eggs and bacon. “You’re awfully early today” dad said as he rubbed his eyes walking into the kitchen.
“Dad, remember?, Victor, Leo, and I are going to the State Fair, we’re planning on having an early day so we can cover as much ground as possible and be home just before dinner hehe” I said as I flipped some bacons on the pan.
“Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that” dad said sipping on his coffee.
“You kids take care okay?”
“Of course dad, and I’m more than safe with Victor by my side hehe”
“yeah, I almost forgot as well that you have a vampire for a boyfriend” he muttered still in his sleepy voice. I sat across dad as we ate our breakfast, then dad looked at me with longing eyes and then said “Goodness Chris, you’ve certainly grown up haven’t you? My kid ain’t a kid no more” wistfully remarked as he looked at me with wonder seemingly amazed that his little kid is not so little anymore.
“Oh dad... I’ll always be your little boy if that’s what you want hehe” I stood up went across the table to him and gave him a good hug. He was taken by surprise a little bit as we rarely hugged though I know he liked it. Dad and I are close and I know and feel he misses the days when I was really just his little boy.
“oh, hehe, god I missed your hugs too” dad said hugging me back. We then finished our breakfast a few minutes later and I cleaned up our dishes, just as I finished, a black bmw stopped by our front lawn and honked it horn,
“well... that must be my ride” I said. “See you later dad”
“okay son, take care.” I then ran to the car and sat myself beside my gorgeous boyfriend. I gave him his morning kiss and he gave it back to me as well. We then drove to Leo’s house, honked our horn and Leo was basically bolting to the car door as he saw us.
“Good morning guys! I’m so happy mom and dad let me go on this trip with you! Hehe” he gleefully remarked as he made himself comfortable in the back seat.
“So what’s the plan you guys?” Leo asked.
“Well... I think we’ll just wing it, uhm, maybe eat around, visit some exhibits, and try some rides?” I said looking back at Leo.
“Sounds like an awesome idea, nothing better than just winging it hehe” Leo laughed at that.
“Alright, let’s get going” Victor said as we drove off to the interstate.
As we were driving off and basically had almost two hours to burn, I thought I’d get to know my boyfriend better.
I then looked at Victor and said. “So Victor, aside from all that super human strength and speed, can you do anything else?” I asked with genuine curiosity.
“Hehe, well... don’t get freaky okay, but for me, uhm, hehe, I can read minds” he said with a smirk.
“What!?” Leo and I said in unison. The thought of my boyfriend being able to mind read uhm, is more than freaky! Oh god I hope he hasn’t done it with me, oh the times I’ve thought so many nasty and sexy things about him hehe. This is embarrassing!
“Yes, I can, both humans and vampires too hehe” he said as he continued to look straight down the road.
“So... wait have you been reading my mind this entire time?” I asked nervously.
“Hehe, of course not! Hehe well... there was this one time though” he smiled mischievously.
“Uh... huh? And when was this? Fess up mister” I said crossing my arms in front of me.
“When I first so saw you... hehe, you were so cute and fragrant and I just had to know you a bit more... hehe... and I was in for a surprise when I read into your mind that time hehe”
“oh.o... shit stop... shut up... I remember” I said.
Then Leo sneaked closer to us from behind, his head now peering in the between Victor’s and mine, and said “wait wait wait... Victor you have to tell me this... what did you read or see or something?” Leo asked knowing this was going to be embarrassing.
Victor then just looked at me and smiled at Leo and said “well... your best friend here was picturing himself giving me and Henry an amazing blowjob under the table at the Diner, hehe” Victor and Leo then burst out into laughter as I went four shades redder.
“Har har funny you guys” I feigned anger.
“Oh come on Chris, I thought it was cute and it certainly helped me know that you were interested in me, hehe, but I promise I’ve never read either of your minds ever since” he held my hand at that.
Then I looked at him and said “So do all vampires know how to do that?”
“Uhm no, actually most vampires like 2/3 or so are stuck with the super speed and strength and fast healing. Only 1/3 have some sort of ability” he said.
“Oh I see so you’re a little bit special then?” I asked.
“Kind off if you’ll put it that way... as most non physical abilities are only effective on humans but mine I can use on vampires and werewolves too, hehe”
“cool... “ Leo remarked then continued “cool... but creepy hehe”
“what else can you do?” Leo asked.
“Well all vampires have improved eye sight, sense of smell and hearing too, other than that I don’t have any other special abilities, though some vampires have really cool ones, like invisibility, flight, some are even able to control other animals, some very rare ones are able to control humans and vampires too”
“wow... that’s very creepy and dangerous!, those must be very powerful vampires then” I said.
“You can say that again, but they’re very very rare though, like if I’m rare, they’re even rarer like maybe 1/10,000 vampires or so” Victor said.
Then he elaborated further as we continued to drive through the winding country roads. “Vampires can be categorized either via their type or their ability; there are the normal ones, then the special ones like me the one with an ability, then after which is when it gets freaky, There are the Absolutes - vampires than can do all 10 recorded special abilities, then there are the Praeditus vampires that can use their non physical abilities not just on humans but vampires and werewolves too, then to top it all off, are the Angelus... a mix of Absolute and Praeditus, imagine a vampire that can use all abilities not just on humans but other supernatural creatures as well, that kind is very powerful but extremely rare, although we haven’t had one in almost a thousand years now”
“wow... that’s just wow, but wait doesn’t that make you a Praeditus too since you can use it on vampires?” I said.
“Hehe, oh yeah, hehe caught me, I guess I am” Victor laughed at that. Then I kissed him on the cheek and said.
“God, I have an awesome boyfriend!, hehe”
Leo then sat back on his chair taking it all in. “Wow, I guess they’ll never teach that in school eh?” He joked.
“Haha, you’re right on that” Victor laughed. We then continued our trip as we sang along some country music then pop music and then some rap. For someone so old Victor sure is able to keep up with us teens hehe.
Time flew by and just before 10 we were already parking near the Meadow Event Park, we could already see a lot of cars parked and thousands of people walking around. We parked and then found ourselves walking amongst the crowd, the day was great, the sun was shining clear above us and the air was crisp, we could hear laughter and chatter around us as people explored the fair, and we three were taken in by the awesome smells of various fried food being cooked all around us.
I made my way to buy myself some Fried ice cream hehe, while Leo and Victor bought themselves some corn dogs. We then paired our food with some soda. We walked around the fair and took note of the other foods we wanted to try and which exhibits we wanted to check out as well.
We found ourselves enjoying a pig race contest and we three were giggling as we cheered on for whichever pig we found to be the cutest hehe. We then saw some street magicians and performers and we were really enjoying the day. For lunch we decided to eat some Fried chicken from one of the nearby stalls and good damn was that delicious.
We then decided to drop by the Heritage Village to learn more about the colonial and Native American history of the state. After which we agreed to ride a small rollercoaster, it took a little bit of time to convince Leo to join us as he has always had a fear on rollercoasters but 15 minutes later he was already screaming his lungs off as we all three enjoyed that ride.
The entire afternoon was so fun, I wonder why Leo and I didn’t visit the State Fair every year, I’m so gonna make this an annual buddy and boyfriend thing.
Just before leaving the Fair, we decided to check out some more stalls and booths, something then caught my eye in one of the booths, a middle aged man was selling various pendants, rings, and bracelets but one of the pendants really took my attention, it was a golden pendant with a silver embossed inscription of that ever familiar symbol in my dreams - A Rose inside the sun. The pendant was adorned on the sides by inscriptions, in a writing I cannot read but seemed immensely familiar, then I realized it was the same as on the books I’ve been reading on the library during my dreams. The pendant had a thin silver chain, it was simple yet absolutely beautiful. I didn’t realize that I was staring at it until the seller said “You like it don’t you?”
I the nodded and replied “Yeah, it’s absolutely beautiful”.
Then the man inquisitively looked at me and said “but it’s not for sale though”
“huh, what do you mean?” I was curious. Why display something that’s not for sale.
“Well... it’s a prize for someone who can answer my question”
“oh I see... hehe, I’ve never been one good at trivia’s but I’ll give it a try” I giggled a bit.
He then looked at me seriously and the spoke in a foreign tongue, one which I could not understand, but he said nonetheless “Ahar isem jan Sahari”
I looked into his eyes and I don’t know where it came from but I replied “Ahar san isem Mesular” I surprised myself at that, the words left my mouth before it dawned on me what I just said, and the guy looked at me with an expression of joy and wonder, his eyes wide and his smile wider, he then said,
“it is yours my lord” he then stood up and actually put the pendant around my neck and tucked it under my shirt. He then looked into my eyes and said “We will meet again young prince”
I looked at him in confusion “hehe I don’t know what you’re talking about but thanks, so can I keep it?”
He then nodded “It is yours” I thanked him again and found my way to Leo and Victor who were buying some bracelets from a stall a few meters away. We were getting hungry again so before driving back to Greensburg, we decided to buy some funnel cakes, we ate with gusto and by 4pm we were on our way back. Leo was stuffed and he basically slept through the entire ride home while Victor and I recounted our adventures for the day.
Just a few minutes after 6, Victor dropped me off, I kissed him goodbye and we promised to hang out again tomorrow. I saw him drop Leo off and I went into my house. I greeted my dad and sat beside the living room couch with him as I recounted to him all we’ve done and eaten that day hehe.
“It’s certainly great to see you having fun son.” He said as he ruffled my hair.
“Hehe dad don’t mess with my hair.” I said as I stood and then told him “I’ll prepare dinner , are you okay with some grilled chicken?”
“Sure am son”
We then ate dinner but I didn’t eat that much as I ate so much during the day.
I then took an evening shower and crashed on my bed as I played with my new pendant. I texted Victor goodnight and we made plans for tomorrow and I was off to sleep.
I was back in the dream tower and now in the desk in front of me were 5 books all bound with white leather, with the same rose and sun symbol. They were ornately decorated by golden leaves and flowers on the edges of the cover and on the spines. As I opened each book, I felt warmth build up inside me, it was almost overwhelming, every pages flipped made my body tingle and it was an almost euphoric experience. I finished flipping through all of the books and by then I was warm all over, then everything started fading out and I then woke with the morning sun peaking through my window.
