tim's Bits and Pieces - 52. Blinded by the Noodle

It could have been worse .. but it wasn't so... i wrote this to poke a bit of fun at myself and my stupidity.  :D

Yesterday morning I was hungry ... and there they were. Only a week old, what's the harm in that? Plenty. But i ignored my little voice of reason ...

Looking good there on my warm breakfast plate
Heated to a glistening perfection
Finishing with a picante hot sauce
—ahhh they are the rice noodles of my dreams
I scoffed them with great gusto and desire
Their flavour was fine and the smell the same
I went then with nary a thought again
Nary a one until that evening’s meal
When the creeping lurgy came upon me
And I let my thoughts return to morning
While my innards groaned and contracted hard
I spent a long painful night in the loo
Giving me time to replay that morning
Oh dear, what a foolish boy I had been
Seduced by the perfection of noodles
I did not listen to my self-warning
That you could end up with food poisoning!

Thanks for reading. i'm doing better. Hope you got a chuckle out of it.

Silver lining:

You got a great poem out of those nasty and sneaky (looking all so innocent and good) noodles.

Glad you’re feeling better, tim.

And yes, I did chuckle, so thank you.

That is true, Reader, thank you xoxo

When I read this title, my head went someplace else. I thought it was a euphemism for something else.

In my early twenties, I went to a BBQ, we were drinking, having fun, and after about six hours, I decided to eat a chicken sandwich I had bought earlier from McDonalds that I had left out in the 90 degree weather. It tasted so delicious in my drunk state, but an hour or so later things were coming out of my body from all my ends for the rest of the night.

Did you know mayonnaise can go bad? I do now. Nice piece of prose.

Yes. Mayo can go bad. My first experience with food poisoning was a chicken and mayo sandwich. I didn't eat chicken for over a year after that. Keep food in the fridge. LOL.

Thanks for reading, Jason. Sorry this wasn't about the hoped for noodle. :)
