tim's Bits and Pieces - 57. Small World

Confined we are, here at home

working in the dining room

Home is a gentle prison

and I stare outside

only a watcher of the world

Though I am safe, I am afraid

Stories of the breathless deaths

sucks the air from the room

And my heart beats harder

as anxiety takes me by the throat

I long for pleasant walks and freedom

Touching again family and friends

Of not living in this waking nightmare

but for now, I lean against Michael

for He is all, in my small world

And I wonder; will it ever truly end?

Will it?

The Earth does not miss us it seems

and Nature is already healing

What will our resurfacing mean?

A change in ways, or will we reclaim

our titles, as destroyers of the world?

You have given eloquent voice to what most of us are feeling. Contrasts of inside/outside make great metaphor for the crisis we are enduring. But as you suggest, hope is All.

As always, thank you for sharing your gift with us

Thanks AC ... it's hard, but you have a special new life to help you through this. Thanks for your comments, my friend xoxo

I want to send you the biggest virtual hug I can, and one for Mike too. I'm lucky that I've got the horses I care for as my companions through this and I wish I could share that with you. I do miss the human contact though, some of the time. The house is too quiet without my boy or our friends around.

Aw, thank you Wolfie.  It is quiet, lately i've been less anxious about it .. more resigned.  We do this for a common goal, for everyone and we need to remember that.

You take care.

This was a great poem. Thanks for sharing it. The last part really spoke to me. I took the trash out the other night. It was late, past midnight. And I took a breath of air and it smelled so clean. It didn't smell like Oslo. It smelled like standing in a field in the middle of nowhere after it's rained. Such a strange feeling. Yeah, the Earth doesn't miss us at all.

nope it doesn't ... and that it forgives and heals so easily should make us want to be kinder to it ... it is our home after all.

Thanks for reading and i hope you are doing okay, Thorne .. xoxo
