Timothy - 93. Chapter 93

With Bruce out of our life, we could focus on our life. Ann Marie is in good hands, and I’ll need to find an apartment for her. I’ll approach the Struthers family about the lodge, and I’m sure they would like to have it back in their family.

“Tim, we need to check on Randy and Aunt Clara.”

“Yes, and we need a vacation where we can forget everything and everyone and just concentrate on us.”

“We could relive our honeymoon.”

“Yes, let’s do that. We need to speak to Gramps.”

Stephen went and checked the cruise lines, and I started dinner.

“Stephen, let’s go home on Saturday and return on Sunday. We can see Randy and Aunt Clara and spend some time with Mom and Dad.”

“And?”

“What ?”

“I think you want to gauge the reception of Rich’s column.”

“Yes, I do. Maybe that will be the closure I’m looking for.”

“Okay, do we let them know or surprise them?”

“You can call Randy and tell him, and I’ll call Mom and Dad.”

I was hoping this visit would be closure for me. There still was Tom, but with Alex’s help, I’ll work on providing closure for him as well.

“Tim, where are you?”

“I’m, in the kitchen, making coffee.”

“I called Randy and told him we will see him and Aunt Clara on Saturday. He said to bring all of the baskets we have.”

Laughing, “Have you checked out our cruise options?”

“No, I’ll do that now.”

Laying in bed, “Tim, I think maybe a cruise to South America or the Mediterranean, what do you think?”

“Our honeymoon cruise was in the Mediterranean. I wonder if there is a cruise in the North?”

“I’ll check it out.”

“Let’s check this out.”

In the morning, while I fixed our breakfast, Stephen did a check on cruises.

Sitting on my favorite lap, “Tim, we have two choices. There is a cruise line that goes to Iceland, Ireland, England, then to Holland and France before coming home. There are river cruises, which are a little different.”

“A river cruise, that could be interesting. Why don’t you check them out? Then we can make a decision.” I thought about a river cruise, and it seemed like that would be more relaxing.

Breakfast over, we got dressed and headed south.

“Let’s stop at the farm before going to Mom and Dad’s. When does Randy graduate?”

“I think next year. I’ll ask him what he thinks will be his major in College. Are you still thinking about him going to our University?”

“Yes, unless they don’t have a degree in his major.’

As we neared the farm, Stephen blew the horn. The front door flew open, and Randy was running to meet us. “Be careful you don’t run him over.”

Aunt Clara came out on the porch, “Thank goodness you are here. He was up at six this morning pacing the floor.”

I went to hug Aunt Clara when Randy had Stephen’s hand digging him into the house. I laughed, and I knew where they were headed.

I had a cup of coffee with Aunt Clara. “I’m going to take the car and drive to my Mom and Dad’s place. If you would please tell Stephen. I’m sure Randy will drive him over, and you are welcome to come over as well. I’ll get Mom to fix us lunch.”

I drove to Mom and Dad’s. When I arrived, Dad was pulling into the driveway, I followed him.

“I didn’t expect you. Where is Stephen?”

“We stopped at the farm. Randy will drive him over after they finish whatever they are doing.”

“Have you seen the paper?”

“No, but Rich stopped at the house and showed me his article. I was wondering what was the reaction of the town.”

“They printed comments in today’s paper. Let’s go in the house, and you can read it.”
