Timothy - 98. Chapter 98

Tuesday morning, and we were back on schedule. After our morning run, Stephen and I fixed breakfast, and I was back in my special chair. After breakfast, we showered, dressed, and headed to work. For some reason, re-establishing our morning routine brought a feeling of normality to me, and I realized I had missed these mornings.

Walking to work, “I didn’t have the time to check the output of my scan. While you fix dinner tonight, I’ll check It.” I laughed.

Andrew showed up in my office a little after 11. “Hi Tim, I came early as I wanted to say hi to some of the people who I worked with.”

“It’s nice to see you, Andrew, and you must say hello to your old staff. I know Nancy would be glad to see you.

Is she still your secretary?

“Yes, and here she comes with a coffee for us. She must have seen you coming into the office.” We chatted about what he was doing to keep busy now that he retired.

Stephen stopped in, “Hi Andrew, ready for lunch.”

Over lunch, I gave Andrew an overview of the project. I told him about Ann Marie and Tom and my lawsuit concerning these two. I told him about Bruce Stevens and his untimely death. “Andrew, Stephen has a lot of information that he gathered from the internet. I have copies of newspapers concerning my lawsuit and some resulting reactions. I also have comments about Bruce’s untimely death. I want to file a class lawsuit against the school and the staff, including the School Board, when Bruce was a student there. This will require a lot of work. I don’t have time to devote to this lawsuit. I have taken a lot of time away from work; I need to catch up on what I have left undone. If you could come over to the house, I can show you what I have. Stephen is a good chef.”

“I can’t come over tonight, but how about this coming Friday? I have some loose ends to tie up, and this will give you a chance to pull everything together.”

“That sounds good. Stephen, what do you think?”

“I have to check the results of the scans we did, so that will give me a chance to do that, and if I need more information, I can do a specific scan for it.”

“If you come over on Friday before quilting time, I can have some information here for you to read, and then you can walk to our home with us.”

Saying goodbye to Andrew, Stephen walked him to his car.

Walking home, “Do you think Andrew will do a good job?”

“Yes, if he agrees to continue after seeing all of the data we have for him. He’s a competent lawyer, and from the records I reviewed, he did an excellent job.’

“He did overlook that one case that you reopened.”

“Before I reopened that case, I reviewed his notes. I think anyone would have had the same result, and I had a highly technical individual working with me that he didn’t have.”

Walking home, holding hands. ”What do you want for dinner, besides Randy’s vegetables?”

“We need to go shopping, I don’t think we have anything in the freezer, and I’m not sure what we have in the fridge.”

“I’ll find something, but tomorrow we will go shopping.” I knew we had eggs in the fridge. I’ll make a vegetable omelet, heavy on the vegetables.

Arriving home, changing into comfortable shorts and t-shirts, I went to the kitchen. Stephen went to the basement to begin reading the results of his scan.

Over dinner, “Tim, I have the results of the search we did on the coach. He left his position to be an assistant sports director at a small college in the West. While there, he got into some trouble with a group of men who wanted him to throw some games. He complied, and the police were investigating these men. They were afraid the coach would talk, and they silenced him. He was found dead. The newspaper said that the police were actively investigating his death.”

“Everybody associated with condoning what Bruce did when he was in high school appears to end up like Bruce. What do you have on the School Board?”

“On the surface, nothing. I’ll do a search on each individual, and we’ll see what comes up.”

“Let’s walk to that ice cream place. We don’t have anything for dessert.”

“Let’s jog instead of walking.”

“I’ll race you; loser pays.”
