Timothy - 49. Chapter 49

Walking up the stairs to the porch, Eva came to meet me. “Tim, I’m sorry about Sunday. We were invited for dinner, but instead, Mom said we were having a family meeting. I had no idea what she had planned. Dad told us you were going to hire a lawyer to present your plans for Ann Marie to hear. Mom said it was a waste of money. There isn’t anything wrong with her.”

“Eva, that was no excuse for what you said to me.”

“Tim, John, and I thought it was better if I said something rather than Mom.”

“You don’t need to worry. Mom left a message on my answering machine, and you should have heard it.”

“Wait, I have been working on a device that prints off any messages left on our answering machine.”

“You didn’t tell me.”

“It wasn’t ready. There was a glitch, and it only recorded the first five minutes, and I wanted the system to record longer.”

“Did you fix it?”

“No, but I tied it into the printer, and now it prints off any message left on the answering machine. Let me go and check the print folder.”

I always knew that Stephan was a wizard as far as electronics were concerned, and now this. I wonder if he could record phone conversations.

“Let’s go inside. I’ll make coffee, and Randy, I’ll give you money to go and get dinner.” His smile said it all.

Sitting at the kitchen table, Stephan handed the printed transcript to Eva. I poured the coffee, sitting in my favorite chair. Stephen whispered in my ear, “Where’s Randy?”

“He went for dinner.”

“We should make a salad.”

“Tim, do you know why Mom is so angry with you. This message is tame to what she said she was going to tell you on Sunday.”

“Then I’m glad she didn’t. I’d probably tell you to release Ann Marie and take her back home. I still control her money, and I’ll ensure she doesn’t get a cent of it. You remember how she acted and how Mom was depressed. I don’t understand why she is defending Ann Marie now.”

“Tim, I’m a medical doctor, not a psychologist. Listening to Eva about your early childhood and now hearing the rage in your mom’s voice when she talks about you, I think she may need help as well. Your dad isn’t as happy as I remember him before Ann Marie had her rage.”

Before I could say anything, Randy returned with our dinner.

“John, Eva, you will have to stay the night. Our butler can show you to your rooms.” Looking at Randy, I laughed and winked. I hope that someday we have a son like Randy.

Dinner was pleasant, as long as we stayed away from Ann Marie and Mom.

After dinner, we showed Eva and John our home. Well, ‘we’ meant we followed our tour guide, I looked at Stephen, and when he looked at me, I smiled as I nodded my head toward Randy.

That evening in bed, “I thought you would have told John about relocating Ann Marie to the university hospital.”

“I didn’t want to get into a discussion, I have made up my mind, and they are planning on making the move tomorrow. I don’t want Mom or Dad to know. I’ll give them an update on her condition as I feel necessary. I don’t want them to interfere and certainly not to come and see her.”

“Are you still planning on moving her to the lodge?”

“Yes, as soon as the doctor permits her to leave the hospital.”

After breakfast, Randy, Eva, and John left, Stephen and I went to work. At 2 o’clock, I received a phone call from the university hospital, and Ann Marie had checked in

I think Timothy was smart to do this without notifying his parents, especially his mother.  AM will be going ballistic enough without adding Mom’s arsenal to the mix.

I don’t get Eva and John.  A person can be psychologically ill without being physically ill.  Just because AM doesn’t have any physical medical problems (good for her!) doesn’t mean she doesn’t need the psychiatric treatment.

Her selfish behavior has gone on for so long that it has become ingrained into her being to the point of being abusive of those around her.  Mom is an enabler.  They both need some serious help.

Honestly, how does one live with all this drama surrounding them which is being cause by two very psychologically unstable people? I said a few chapters back that the apple didn't fall far from the tree and I believe we are now seeing it full point. Triangulation is something that many with psychotic illnesses do in order to manipulate and the mom is definitely trying to do that in every way possible. The dad seems to be the only one not being drug into the manipulation since Eva and John seem to have already acquiesced to the senility of releasing a psychologically unstable person back into society.

And in tonight's forecast, we see showers of stupidly, occasional bouts of forgetfulness followed by a thick fog layer of self induced density. Don't forget to wax those shovels as we estimate several inches of ludicrousness, clogging up those neural pathways. It's gonna be a bumpy ride folks, remember to warm up those thinking caps before opening your mouth!!

Ditto to what he said (Chris), just that can he add mum to the university loony tunes as well. He mad the right move moving her without telling anyone, because mum would just have interfered anyway. Oh and can you ask Stephen if I can have one of these answer phones that prints off the messages: so many times I come home only to find that my man has deleted everything🤬

Good, after the responses received, this is the best plan of action , no more consultations with the family. But I feel sorry for Tim’s dad.

Oh hell, so the wheels are in motion, Ann is in the mental hospital, mom is going to go absolutely ballistic when she finds out that she cannot visit , I hope that it will give dad time to sort mom out and get her the help she so obviously needs , onwards and upwards . Peace in the family seems a very long distance in the future

So it seems.  I think Tim is doing the right thing getting Ann Marie away

John should have recognized AM's problem was mental.. Tim is on the right trail..

Tim's moving AM out of John's care to the University accomplishes two things, one,  getting AM out of the city and two, addressing her mental problem. I think Tim is on the right path.

I'll talk to Stephen for you.  I think Gramps might sell them.

He has effectively isolated her from all influences. Tim has put aside AM's hatred of himself and is only looking out for AM's best interest.

Dad is in a fog and doesn't understand what is going on. Tim has taken him into his confidence until now. He has isolated Ann Marie from family. I think we will see progress. Hard decisions for Tim to make.

I agree.  I thought Eva was also in the medical field, although I’m not sure which one.  As medical professionals, I was astounded at their lack of support for Timothy and his efforts to get AM the psychiatric help she so obviously needs.  Mom obviously, also, needs help in realizing how AM is manipulating the people around her and get over the guilt of whatever happened that allowed the supreme selfish, self-centered behavior to blossom.
