Timothy - 67. Chapter 67

Heading back home, we dropped Rich off at the paper, and then we went to Mom and Dad’s. Walking into the house, we headed for the kitchen, and Mom and Dad had already eaten, so it would have to be leftovers for us. Moms have incredible hearing, opening the fridge door, she heard it and was next to me in a second.

“Go and sit down. I’ll warm up supper for you and Stephen.”

I fixed a coffee for us, “Mom, where’s Dad?”

“In the garage.”

Taking our coffee, Stephen and I headed for the garage. Walking in, Dad was polishing the car.

“Need help?”

“You both are back. How did it go?”

“Dad, we have uncovered a hornet’s nest. Mom’s Doctor Stevens was behind Ann Marie’s rape. He organized the whole thing, and I wonder if he knew Mom was Ann Marie’s mother. Dad, that man was a monster, and I’m going to take him for every penny he has.”

“You haven’t told Mom any of this?”

“No, I don’t intend to tell her.”

Mom called, our dinner was ready. Walking to the table, it was obvious the food on the table wasn’t leftovers. Dad walked in, sat down at the table. Mom set a small plate in front of him.

I just smiled, “Mom, are you going to have a coffee with us?”

I thought she would say no, but she surprised us, fixed a cup of coffee, and sat at the table.

“Mom, did you bake a pie for dessert?”

She laughed, “I could never have a fresh-baked pie get passed you. That nose always knew when I baked a pie.”

Now I knew why Dad was having a coffee with us. Mom was known for her pies, and Mom was asked to contribute at every money-raising event, and generally, it was a pie.

Later in bed, “Stephen, I’m concerned about Mom and Dad when the newspaper story comes out. Not everyone will want their past exposed, and with the lawsuit being filed here in court, there may be a backlash.”

“If there is, they can move into one of Dad’s apartments.”

I thought about that, and I wasn’t sure if that would be a good move or not. Thinking about today’s events and Rich’s piece for the paper, I drifted off to sleep. But I wasn’t alone, and I had a visitor.

“Tim, relax. Everything will be alright.”

The next thing I knew, it was morning.

Over breakfast, “We need to stop at the farm, and then we will head home. Are you coming up today? We have the meeting with Ann Marie tomorrow.”

“Yes, we’ll leave after lunch.”

“Good, we’ll have dinner ready when you arrive.”

We left for the farm, and Aunt Clara insisted we stay for lunch. I chatted with Aunt Clara while Stephen spent time with Randy.

It was almost 2 when Stephen and Randy joined us in the kitchen. “Ready to go?”

“Randy, I’ll send you the instructions.”

“Thanks, Stephen. The teacher is going to be surprised.”

“Aunt Clara, you are still welcome to visit if Randy hasn’t forgotten the way.”

“Teachers have a workshop coming up.”

“Good, Stephen and I expect to see you, and Aunt Clara, make sure you are in that front seat. I’d hate to have to send him back if you aren’t with him.”

Driving home, “What magic did you show Randy?”

“His computer teacher was showing the class how to run a diagnostic on their computer systems. He was confused, so I showed him a shortcut. He’ll need a program change, and I’ll send him the instructions. I wouldn’t bet he ends up teaching his instructor this new way.”

Arriving home, we parked the car at the office and started to walk home holding hands.

“Stephen, we need to go and get something for dinner. Mom and Dad walk be here soon.”

“I’ll go to that shop where Randy got that roasted chicken.”

Stephen is something else. He walked me home, and I watched as he jogged back to get the car.

I love when Donnie makes another nocturnal visit to Tim, whether to impart some important information or just to boost his spirit. (unintended 👻 pun) There's a can of whup ass that's been opened and Bruce, Benny and company are not going to like it.

A note to those who complain the chapters are too short. Normally I'm fairly reserved but am known to speak up on occasion . The author, CL,  could give us chapters that are two or three times longer, but only give us 1 chapter each week. Or do you want more frequent gratification (with occasionally cliff-hangers)?

There's also a need to consider that this wonderfully prolific scribe, @CLJobehas supplied us with over 43 stories :read: totaling some 1,418,373 words, posted on Gay Authors, (almost 3 times the words in Tolstoy's famous tome War and Peace).  Finally, (speaking with all due deference and not because I'm afraid of being hit with a  ✏️  ), he's not 65 any more and I for one will enjoy his writing as long as he keeps cranking it out.

I'm loving the story, just wish the chapters were a bit longer as they are over too quick.

thanks CLJobe

Perfect length and frequency for me. I so enjoy reading a quick chapter everyday, that takes only a few minutes to read, as opposed to those long, lengthy, and drawn out ones. Hell, those kinds of chapters you have to get up and pee at least 2-3 times while reading them! LOL!!!!

I usually shoot for somewhere around 700 words. If I did longer chapters I would post less often. So short chapters every day or a longer chapter once a week.

thanks for reading

It’s only because I want to read more as it’s so good.

thank you for being such a good writer and keeping me and many others so entertained. I really appreciate it.
