Timothy - 71. Chapter 71
Tuesday, we flew to Philadelphia and rented a car to drive to Tom’s school. We arrived mid-afternoon and hoping to catch him after classes. “Tim, do you know what he looks like?”
“No, except he was tall. Let’s go and check in with the school’s administration.”
Entering the school, Stephen asked one of the girls where the Administration office was located, and she offered to show us. As we passed the girls in the hall, they would look and giggle, and I just smiled.
Arriving at the school’s office, Stephen thanked the young lady. I have always known he was a charmer, and now at least one teenager agreed.
Walking into the office, a young woman is sitting behind a desk. We introduced ourselves and told her we would like to speak to Thomas Boulder, and she told us to have a seat. “I’ll check where he is, and if he is in class, you’ll have to wait until class is over.”
We sat in the office about 5 minutes when a young lady entered and told the woman behind the desk that Mr. Boulder was in class and would be available after class.
“We will wait.”
About 10 minutes later, a tall, dark hair man entered the office, “You were asking for me?”
“Yes, Mr. Boulder, these gentlemen are here for you.”
Looking at us, “I’m Thomas Boulder. You are looking for me?”
“Yes, Tom, is there someplace where we can talk privately?”
His face lost all of its color. The lady behind the desk pointed to the closed door. Stephen led the way, Tom followed, and I was behind him.
“Tom, my name is Timothy Walkins, Ann Marie Walkins’s brother.” That got a reaction. He started to get up, and Stephen placed a hand on his shoulder. He sat back down, and then he began to cry.
I looked at Stephen. “Tom, I’m a lawyer, and I know about Bruce, Bernard, and you. I’m going to sue Bruce for every penny he has. I told Bernard that if he cooperated, I would not include him in the lawsuit, and I’ll offer you the same.”
I saw a scared young man sitting before me. “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to be part of that. I had no choice. I have a secret, and Bruce found out. I’m gay. That night I couldn’t do it; I pretended. Bruce knew it and laughed at me. When Benny left, Bruce started talking. He told me he would keep my secret as long as I took care of him. That night your sister wasn’t the only one raped.”
Looking at Stephen, I saw the anger in his eyes.
“Tom, help me to take this man down.”
“If people find out, I’ll never be able to teach again. I’ll probably have to leave the country.”
“Do you have a partner?”
‘“No, every time I think about intimacy with a man, Bruce comes to mind.”
“I’ll do everything I can to protect you, but you need to tell me everything. I’ll fly you to our home, and you’ll be away from the school. What you tell me will be between the three of us.”
We agreed he would visit us this coming Friday. As we were walking to our car, someone was calling us. When we turned to see who was calling us, Tom was running toward us.
“I told the Director that I received bad news and must leave for a few days.”
We stopped at his apartment, and he packed a small suitcase. Arriving at the airport, we booked him a seat on our flight.
He was quiet for the total flight. He would look at us, then wipe the tears from his eyes. I felt sorry for him; he was a victim like Ann Marie.
Arriving home, Stephen showed him his room. “When you are settled, come down to the kitchen. Tim will have something to eat for us.”
Stephen came to the kitchen, “How is he?”
“He’ll be okay. I hope we can get Bruce arrested, and I’m sure there will be someone there to take care of him as he took care of Tom.”
“You know there might be a way. It’ll depend on Tom.
