Timothy - 87. Chapter 87

In the morning, “Tim, did you sleep okay?”

“Yes, except what Donnie told me. He said the leak is in the DA’s office. Bruce bought tickets for England. His wife isn’t going. She’s to sell everything she can and move back to live with her family. She’s confused, and Bruce hasn’t told her anything.”

“What are you going to do?”

“When we get to work, I’ll call Rich and tell him there is someone in the DA’s office who is feeding information to Bruce. I’ll call Judge Howard and tell him about Bruce escaping to England.”

“If his wife returns to her parent’s home, she will be hounded by the press, and who knows who else.”

“I’m not going to mention that to Judge Howard or Rich. No sense in causing trouble for her. She was a victim as well.”

“Let’s go and have breakfast. I can smell the coffee.”

Walking into the dining room, everyone was sitting around the table except Dad. “Where is Dad?”

“He left earlier, and he was going to go to work and check on the house.”

“Did he have breakfast?”

“Yes”

Stephen went and picked up Eva Marie. He had taken a bottle from Eva and proceeded to feed Eva Marie. I knew he would start bugging me about adoption, and I was okay with that. Once I had finished my legal issues with Bruce, I’d be ready for adoption.

During breakfast, John’s parents said they would be leaving today, returning home. I looked at John and Eva, expecting John to say they were staying or going. Nothing was said, so I assumed they would be staying, and I knew Stephen would like that.

Walking to work, “Tim,” I knew what he was going to say.
“Yes”
“Do you think we can start thinking about our family?”

“Yes, you have fallen in love with Eva Marie, haven’t you.”

“Yes. I want to investigate adoption possibilities.”

“You understand that it will be difficult for us. A lot of agencies do not want to let gay people adopt.”

“Maybe we can find a surrogate.”

“Let’s check out the agencies before we look for a surrogate.” I’ll discuss this with Donnie tonight.

Arriving at my office, I called Rich and told him about the leak in the DA’s office. I also asked him to check Mom and Dad’s house. When I finished that call, I called Judge Howard and told him about Bruce’s escape to England. I knew he would tell the DA. I wondered if someone would tip Bruce off. I didn’t mention the leak in the DA’s office. He would want to know how I knew, and I didn’t think he would believe about Donnie.

At lunchtime, I told Stephen about my phone calls. “Tim, if Judge Howard tells the DA and there is a leak there, then Bruce will know that his plans have been discovered.”

“I didn’t think Judge Howard would believe me. How do I explain Donnie to him?”

Arriving home, “How was Ann Marie today?”

“She was in good spirits. We talked about the weekend, and she wants to visit you and Stephen. She adored Eva Marie and had to show her to all of the staff.”

I felt anger and sadness when Eva told me how Ann Marie acted with little Eva Marie. I was angry at Mom again. Her actions had prevented Ann Marie from being a mother. I was glad that Eva and John had chosen her to be Eva Marie’s godmother.

After dinner, Stephen took Eva Marie and went to the basement. Dad called and said he would stay home and be up for the weekend. I told Mom, and she just nodded her head.

After the dishes were done, I made a pot of coffee and headed to the basement, and John joined me. I knew what Stephen was doing, he was scanning the internet with Eva Marie on his lap.

“What are you scanning? Here is a cup of coffee for you.” I picked up Eva Marie while he drank his coffee and continued to scan the internet, and I knew why he was scanning the internet.

Dad called on Wednesday with the headlines. ‘Fugitive gives Canadian police the slip.’ I knew the fugitive was Bruce. Laying in bed, I told. Stephen that Bruce gave the Canadian police the slip. “Dad said it was in today’s paper. I think I’ll call Rich tomorrow.”

Donnie visited, “Tim, forget about Bruce and get on with your life. The British police will pick him up. He will be deported back to Canada, and the police will meet him. He won’t make it back home.”

I woke quickly. “Why won’t he make it back home? Donnie, what is going to happen?”
No answer, I couldn’t fall back to sleep.

I guess my moving around woke Stephen. “What’s wrong?”

“Donnie said that Bruce will be picked up by the British police and returned to Canada. He said Bruce wouldn’t make it back home, and that was all. He didn’t say why he wouldn’t make it back home. I’ve been trying to think why he wouldn’t, and the only reason I could think of he would be killed.”

“Maybe he will be incarcerated in Canada.”

“That could be it, but if that were it, Donnie would have told me.”

“Tim, there is nothing you can do. Go asleep, and maybe we will have news tomorrow.”

I did fall asleep, but it wasn’t my regular sleep. Stephen pulled me into his arms. I finally fell into a deep sleep with my head on his chest.

The leak from the DA's office is not only about protecting Bruce there are other big time movers and shakers that might be implicated I would think.

Tim is afraid Judge Howard would think Tim is nuts if he told him about Donnie. How about having Donnie tell Tim to say a certain detail to the Judge that would make the Judge believe him Donny would know what that is.

If Bruce does indeed die could they still get monetary damages from Bruce's estate?

In my state if you die before conviction, the criminal charges are dropped and legally presumed not guilty. Nor sure if you can institute a civil complaint!!

Oh my, I hope dad is not missing only to act rashly as the wheels of justice try to catch up with unwilling participants. Surely the anguish and frustration of what could have been, but never to know other than a family lifetime of dysfunction…, that is torturous if unable to accept and move on.

Donnie was vague, but was it intentional? to protect Tim when the not knowing is perhaps the only way to see family healing and to protect those so wronged long ago? The true costs may be steep but ultimately the final solution. At this time, prayers for the family may be the best one can do.

Oh yes, Stephen has it bad while being held by little hands and hearts, and so too does Tim but for the preoccupation/distraction of Bruce’s cancer on society. The wheels are rolling towards needing a family vehicle, but will that be a sedan, van, or bus? 🤪 Tim’s confession of never splitting up siblings in adoption may come in to play as just who determines boundaries on the bonds of blood and hearts of little ones?

'Someone' in DA's office, or Judge Howard don't want more names leaked of these involved in a wider RAPE group and are prepared to silence the one person who "knows where the bodies are buried" (not literally?).  BUT are they overlooking / forgetting Bruce's 'Little Black Book' aka Secret Notes?

Skull duggery continues.

Stay tuned...

Yes, the black book will be the end of Bruce

Donnie says Bruce will not make it back home.  So what is going to happen to Bruce?  Are there more than just those leaking information to him.  Are those people also trying to protect their involvment in this Rape gang.  I am thinking there is going to be a major "outing" of other members who are involved in the Rape gang.

Too bad Donnie did not say why Bruce will not make it back home.

More interesting developments here.

Donnie will tell Tim what happened to Bruce probably after the fact.

Ok so I was not expecting that revelation, but if the plane crashed or he is taken to account by someone on the plane or so,  where he is poisoned or something like that, he will not make it back it does leave his estate to claim damages from, interesting times ahead

If Bruce was smart, everything would be in his wife's name.

Dad is definitely isolating and can't say as I blame him, everything he's believed in for the last 40 years - trust - has just been blown up in smoke. Brucee is definitely a piece of work, never wanting to take accountability. Guessing, according to Donnie, Big Bubba & Co will pay him a visit soon when he returns to Canada.

I'm sure he is feeling the pinch. You can only keep running for a little while.

I also think Donie was vague because he didn't want Tim to do something to change the future.  If Tim knew, he would have told the authorities which may have interfere with the future.

Or maybe Donnie put the thought into a dream for Judge Howard that there is likely a leak or info being passed on to Bruce.
