ARROW - 179. Chapter 179
While Richie and Anne Maria were on their honeymoon, Charles finished their house. We moved the furniture from my home that was in Richie's original home to his new home. That meant more shopping for Colin and me. The first thing we moved was Richie’s office and as I suspected, Colin moved into that space before he helped me move the other furniture. Now we, or I, had to go shopping for living room furniture, kitchen furniture, and dishes, that were originally from Richie’s home. Colin went to check if there was any more furniture from Richie's original home in storage. Furniture from Maria’s original room was there and he arranged for it to be shipped to Ritchie’s new home.
“Do you think Maria will move into Richie’s new house or stay here?”
“I don’t know. Whatever she wants to do and if Richie and Anne Marie agree, I see no problems.”
“We need to go shopping for furniture.”
“You and Maria can go shopping.”
“You don’t want to go with me?”
“No, I trust you. You have good taste and I’ll know whatever you buy I’ll be happy.” The look on his face when he said good taste made me laugh, he was referring to me picking him as a mate. I’m not sure who picked who but I was happy and I knew he was as well.
I looked at him, he was only concerned about his office. His old office was given to the boys for their study room.
Maria jumped at the chance to help me furnish our home. After the first day, I knew she had a lot to say about the furnishing of Richie's parents' home.
When Richie and Ann Marie returned, we had a welcome home party. They didn’t know about their new home. Richie made a comment about the new furniture and that Colin had moved into his office.
The boys couldn’t wait to show them their new home. Ronnie told them he had bought some land and was going to get Charles to build him a house on it. Richie wanted to see the land, Ronnie told him tomorrow morning he would show him. The conversation turned to France and Richie and Ann Marie’s honeymoon. Richie said that they had dinner at Arnaud’s home and Jean gave them a private tour of the Louvre. They met up with Pat and she said she would be returning sometime next week. They talked a lot about the Home and Pat said she missed the children.
It was good to have Richie at home.
In the morning, after breakfast, Ronnie took Richie and Ann Marie to show them where he is planning on building his home. As soon as they left, we followed. Ronnie walked to Richie’s left, blocking his view of his house. It was Anne Marie who saw the house.
“Who lives there?”
Now, Richie’s attention was drawn to the home. He started to look around and when he saw Colin and me, he ran to us, grabbed us in a hug. “I don’t believe it.” Anne Marie was confused.
“Anne, that is our new home.”
He took Anne Marie by the hand and led her to the front door. Colin and I were right behind him. He reached to open the door, and Colin whispered something to Richie, he turned and picking up Anne Marie, carried her across the threshold of their new home.
Colin, Ronnie, and I returned to our home but not before Ronnie showed us where he wanted his home built. It seemed that two of our boys will be close to us.
That evening, “It’s good to have Richie and Anne Marie home. We have one more wedding, Ronnie and Julie.”
“What kind of home do you think they will pick?”
“I don’t know but I’m sure Ronnie will want a football team.”
“Poor Julie”
The next morning, sitting at our new kitchen table, there was a knock on our kitchen door. Before I could get up to open it, Richie and Anne Marie entered. “We came for breakfast. We don’t have any food in the house.”
He no sooner sat down when Ivan, Elsie with little Ivan showed up. I thought all we needed was Tommy when he and Pepe walked in. Colin was smiling, looking around the table, all of our boys were there as well as Mary Ann and Louise. I never had envision a breakfast party, but we had one this morning. I got up to help Marie make crepes and scrambled eggs. Peter stopped over and soon he was helping. “Go and sit down, I’ll help Marie.”
Later that day, “I never have seen you smiling so much as this morning.”
“Our family was all together I felt blessed, even GG was smiling.”
I knew that this morning was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am sure we will have quests for breakfast or dinner on occasion, but having everyone here at one time will be a rarity. The older boys have their own lives and the chances to see them all together will be a rarity.
Now we focused on Ronnie’s wedding. Julie wanted a June wedding and one outdoors. I don’t think Ronnie cared, he was anxious to get married. Colin said he was anxious to start his football team. I laughed, “I’ll bet his first child will be a girl.”
It seemed with Grandmere in residence, French was the language being spoken in our home. One surprise for David, he had two teachers, Grandieer and Anne Marie. Soon we heard some French words coming out of David. As he spoke more, he became more comfortable with speaking the language. French was becoming a second language in our home.
